Spain Dances: 2024 residency at Dance Place

During this ten-day residency program, a professional Spanish dancer will collaborate with resident companies, participate in Dance Place activities, and showcase their work at the Former Residence of the Ambassadors of Spain.

The Cultural Office of the Embassy of Spain in Washington, D.C. announces a new collaboration within its residency program. The residency will take place for two weeks in September 2024 (from the 11th until the 24th), in collaboration with Dance Place, on the occasion of the Washington Dance Festival.

Work will involve teaching lessons to students at Dance Place, and spending time there to research, create, and explore. This will also include opportunities to interact with other members of the dance community, such as sharing a meal, teaching classes, setting choreography, and performing with invited guests.

Rehearsals will take place in the mornings, lessons will be held in the afternoons, and performances may be scheduled on weekdays or weekends, amounting to approximately 40 hours per week.

The artist will also be asked to dance at the Former Residence of the Ambassadors of Spain (Cultural Office), with the possibility to collaborate with other dancers.
