Paula Saiz dances at the Former Residence of the Ambassadors of Spain

Spanish dancer Paula Saiz will share the result of her artistic residency at Dance Place in a unique showing at the Former Residence of the Ambassadors of Spain.

As the dancer selected to participate in the first edition of the residency at Dance Place, organized in collaboration with the Cultural Office of the Embassy of Spain, Paula Saiz will present the result of her work in Washington, D.C. at a one-time event at the Former Residence of the Ambassadors of Spain.

The dancer will share her skills and knowledge for the audience to enjoy in a brief performance, together with some of the artists who have been working with her during her stay, followed by a short conversation and Q&A about the contemporary dance world and the current situation of dancers in Spain and the U.S.

During her residency, Paula Saiz will engage in multiple activities to share and display her work and ideas, participating in various workshops and events not only at Dance Place but around the city.

About the artist

Paula Saiz is a graduate from the Professional Conservatory of Contemporary Dance of Alicante (CPDA) and qualified in Contemporary Dance Pedagogy at the Conservatory of Dance of Alicante (CSDA) in Spain. She was awarded a scholarship at Anton Bruckner University in Linz, Austria and was a finalist in the choreographic competition 10 Senses in Valencia, Spain.

To her training in contemporary dance she adds Urban Dances such as Hip Hop, Afro, House and Dancehall, Waacking, Popping and Breakdance. She has also received training in Dance Theater, Classical Dance and Flamenco (Spanish Dance). She is currently a dancer in the dance company Aerialstrada and in the Rocompany project and teaches in several dance schools.
