Paula Saiz at Dance Place 2023

Spanish dancer Paula Saiz will be the first artist-in-residence of the new collaboration between Dance Place and the Cultural Office of the Embassy of Spain in Washington, D.C.

Thanks to the collaboration between Dance Place and the Cultural Office of the Embassy of Spain in Washington, D.C., Spanish dancer Paula Saiz will be the first to collaborate with the dance organization during 12 days, for an artistic residency.

The Residency, which takes place at the same time as the Washington Dance Festival, is designed for established and emerging dancers. The Residency provides dancers with time, in a setting congenial to their efforts, for the production of new pieces, meeting with other dancers and choreographers, as well as teaching and collaborating with the companies in residence at Dance Place. It also introduces them to the social and cultural fabrics of the United States, enables them to take part in American life, and creates opportunities for them to contribute to dance lessons and workshops.

As part of the residency, Paula Saiz will engage in multiple activities to share and display her work and ideas, participating in various workshops and events in the city, including a performance at the Former Residence of the Ambassadors of Spain:
