On Saturday, May 9th, the Delegation of the European Union to the United States and the Embassies of 28 E.U. Member States to the United States open their doors to the Washington public during the E.U. Embassies’ Open House Day.
This annual event is the highlight of the Washington May calendar and is celebrated during Europe Week. Each embassy opens their doors to the public from 10 am until 4 pm, and offers a rare look inside the buildings and provides a unique opportunity to experience the country’s cultural heritage and national traditions.
This year Spain’s EU Open House will be held once again at the Former Residence of the Ambassadors of Spain, which will showcase Moving Forward, Looking Back, an exhibit that explores the Spanish legacy found along the Old Spanish Trail combining photography, video and sound. In addition, visitors will be able to enjoy music by Spanish guitarist Torcuato Zamora (from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm), taste a selection of delicious Spanish food and drinks, and visit the stands of the different Embassy departments including TURESPAÑA, which will offer free information to anyone planning to travel to our country in the near future.
