Kids Euro Fest 2023

As part of the 2023 edition of “Kids Euro Fest,” Spain will be present at the Family Day as well as offering a free performance of the play “Picasso” at GALA Hispanic Theater.

From October 21-28, families across the DMV area are invited to participate in the EU’s large Family Day event or in a number of independent embassy events across the city. Kids up to 12 can experience the best European performances, crafts, games, and food. Spain has organized two events within this year’s edition of Kids Euro Fest:

Family Day

  • On Saturday, October 21 from 10 am until 2 pm.
  • At the Martin Luther King Memorial Library, 901 G St NW, Washington, DC 20001.
  • Free, RSVP required.

The Cultural Office of the Embassy of Spain will have a stand (table) in which kids will be able to learn about Spain as a country: its history, geography, culture, and even
science. Through different experiments proposed by ECUSA (Spanish Scientists in the USA), kids will explore the different blood types for humans, and their importance in the medical
field. They will experiment what happens when different blood types mix and will be able to figure out the blood type of unknown samples given by the scientists.

Picasso

  • On Sunday, October 22 at 11 am.
  • At GALA Hispanic Theater, 3333 14th St NW, Washington, DC 20010.
  • Free bilingual performance. RSVP required (only through Kids Euro Fest).

GALA Hispanic Theater organizes a special performance of the play Picasso within this year’s Kids Euro Fest 2023, as an independent event. Written by Cornelia Cody and directed by Elena Velasco, Picasso talks about the artist’s life, a play presented in the 50th anniversary of his death. From the lush stroke of his paintbrush to the beat of his heart, the artful canvas of Picasso’s life unfolds through memories of cherished family and friends, his passion for bullfights, the circus, and the stage.
