Diego el Cigala 2022 US tour in Washington, DC

El Cigala, one of Spain’s most acclaimed and innovative Flamenco singers, celebrates the 20th anniversary of his album “Lágrimas negras” at Lincoln Theatre as part of his 2022 ten-city US tour.

Lágrimas Negras was recorded with the Cuban musician Bebo Valdés and was named Best Album of 2003 by the New York Times, winner of two Grammy awards and the BBC World Music Award, among other awards, and sold more than two million copies worldwide. This anniversary tour begins on October 13 in Dallas, Texas, and will take him to 10 cities in the United States, then to Spain.

About Diego el Cigala

With a career spanning 30 years, Diego el Cigala has won 6 Latin Grammy in addition to a Grammy nomination for his album Indestructible, and another for Best Tropical Solo Artist at the Billboard Awards. He has sold more than two million albums, and his tours have taken him to more than 30 countries on five continents. He has collaborated with artists such as Bebo Valdés, Alicia Keys, Alejandro Femández, Ricky Martín, Lila Downs, Chavela Vargas, Mercedes Sosa, Mina, Caetano Veloso and Rosario.

He radiates a magnetic mix of winking charm and unpredictable vitriol reminiscent of a singer from an entirely different milieu, Frank Sinatra.
