Now in its 27th year, the AFI European Union Film Showcase continues its tradition of bringing the best in European cinema to Washington audiences, including Spanish film Falling Star.

The festival showcases a selection of the best contemporary films from Mexico, Cuba, and Spain, including Tryouts, Map and The Wild Children.

An exhibition of drawings by the artist Fernando Bellver, awarded in 2008 with Spain’s National Prize of Engraving.

Featuring Simon Shaheen and the Qantara Ensemble, Tunisian vocalist Sonia M’Barak, Spanish vocalist and guitarist Juan Perez Rodriguez, dancer Auxi Fernandez, and vocalist Elizabeth Ayoub.

SPAIN arts & culture’s last screening of this year presents Spain’s dark thriller Sleep Tight by Jaume Balagueró.

Spanish cinema, new and old, will be brought together to show off the recurring ‘grotesque humor’ found in the nation’s film history.

International artist Luisa Alvarez of the Spanish Art Collective Travesías de Luz will be installing 50 of her whimsical, illuminated sculptures in Georgetown as part of GLOW.

Bertrand Delacroix Gallery will introduce Spanish painter Jorge Pombo as part of its show Winter Collective Part 1.

The CCEMiami will have its End of Season Party with a free concert of Vanito Brown, Microtheater in English and Spanish and lots of surprises.
