Carolina Durante y Cariño at BIME x KEXP
Spanish music festival “BIME” celebrates Ibero-American Music at the new “KEXP Festival El Sonido Live” in Seattle.
The El Sonido Live first edition –a cultural gathering with live performances and talks– will take place on July 21 at the KEXP courtyard in Seattle, celebrating the rich diversity of modern Latin and Ibero-American sounds as well as the release of KEXP’s first podcast in Spanish, El Sonido, and its first season, Cancioneros.
The programming has been curated by the El Sonido team –the first Spanish-language podcast from leading broadcaster KEXP– to showcase the latest alternative musical trends, premiering in Seattle.
Spanish artists Carolina Durante y Cariño will join Pahua (Mexico), Rubio (Chile), and Usted Señalemelo (Argentina) artists. Committed to supporting the development and internationalization of Ibero-American artists, the festival keeps a constant dialogue and an artistic and professional flow between Europe and America jointly with Chilemúsica, the Consulate of Mexico in Seattle, and the Latin Alternative Music Conference of New York.
As the Ibero-American content producer and KEXP presenter Albina Cabrera said, “This event is also the culmination of years of collaboration and exchange with our partners, who work in their local communities supporting independent music and honest cultural exchanges. We are deeply excited to invite our entire community to share new talent and celebrate the cultural richness of Latin and Spanish-language music.”
The event will also include networking programming with El Sonido Live’s participating organizations, alongside promoters, journalists, artists, and local bands to generate different exchanges and a panel to debate about artists’ internationalization.
