Tomatito U.S. Tour in New York City
Multiple Latin Grammy winner Tomatito, who is considered the finest guitarist of his generation, performs at The Town Hall.
José Fernández Torres, known in the artistic world as Tomatito, is a member of one of the most famous dynasties in the world of flamenco singing. He is best known as the guitarist who accompanied Camarón de la Isla for the last eighteen years of the great singer’s life, collaborating with him on the seminal album La Leyenda del Tiempo (The Legend of Time), and many other essential flamenco recordings. After the death of Camarón, in January 1993, Tomatito started a career as a concert guitarist.
Since then, he has performed in major flamenco festivals in the world, visiting countries like France, Switzerland, Japan, and playing with artists such as Elton John or Frank Sinatra, and carrying out also musical collaborations with pop music icons such as Mecano.
Tomatito’s kind of Flamenco is mixed with jazz influences, resulting in a phenomenal merger worth listening to.
