Jordi Puntí at PEN World Voices Festival 2013

Jordi Puntí’s awaited first novel Lost Luggage was awarded The XI Bookseller Prize and translated into twelve languages.

The PEN World Voices Festival showcases the work of international writers in conversations, readings, and performances demonstrating the importance of literature. Chaired by Salman Rushdie, the theme of the 2013 World Voices Festival is bravery and will feature such luminaries as Eduardo Galeano, Sapphire, and Fran Lebowitz.

Jordi Puntí is one of the most interesting voices in Catalan prose. In 1998 he published Pell d’armadillo, which won the Critics’ Prize Serra d’Or, followed by Animals tristos, which was in the short list for the Catalan Bookseller’s Award and is now a film.

His first novel Maletes perdudes (Lost Luggage, 2010) was awarded The XI Bookseller Prize and translated into twelve languages. His most recent work is Els castellans (L’Avenç).
