Forma Antiqva at The Frick

The Zapico brothers, founders of the ensemble Forma Antiqva, engage countertenor Carlos Mena in a journey through the Spanish and Italian dances and tunes from the XVII and XVIII Centuries.

The Frick Collection, on the occasion of Zurbarán’s Jacob and His Twelve Sons: Paintings from Auckland Castle exhibition, gives Forma Antiqva the opportunity to debut in the USA, and in New York City in particular, with a delightful concert engaging the countertenor Carlos Mena.

The Zapico brothers, founders of the ensemble Forma Antiqva, created in 2010 their most iconic project together: Concerto Zapico –a continuo consort based on their instruments (theorbo, baroque guitar and harpsichord) whose repertoire is entirely devoted to their own transcriptions of Iberian and Italian dances from the Baroque.
