Fernando Pavon at Elemental Realms
Spanish artist Fernando Pavon participates in this exhibition featuring artists from all over the world who have one thing in common: a love of experimenting with texture.
Elemental Realms is a collective exhibition that explores textures, covering abstraction and figurative imagery and including purely visual surfaces and three-dimensional mixed-media pieces that resemble friezes. The show investigates the ways in which texture conveys information, emotion, and environment.
About Fernando Pavon
Fernando Pavon describes his works as a result of intuition and spontaneity, inspired by abstract expressionism; especially the works of American Expressionists like Jackson Pollock, his works are filled with vivid, yet earthy colors, and strong brushstrokes that move through the entire composition with a sense of uninhibited freedom.
He takes the spirituality and luminosity of Rothko’s colors along with the energy and vitality of Pollock’s gestural paint splatters to create his own fresh, contemporary interpretation of their modern masterpieces. He approaches each board with no conceived plan of what he will create, how, or even what pigments he’ll use.
