A tribute to Bunbury and Héroes del Silencio

The Flamingos band presents a selection of fan-favorite songs by the emblematic Spanish classic rocker Bunbury and his former band Héroes del Silencio.

Enrique Bunbury (born Enrique Ortiz) is one of the most recognized artists in Spanish contemporary music, not only in Spain but in all Latin America. In 1987 he started as the singer of the well-known band Héroes del Silencio, which marked an inflection point in Spanish rock for many future bands who opted to sing in Spanish while maintaining an international sound.

Bunbury has moved around in the Spanish music scene in various incarnations for multiple decades. After experimenting with different styles –from electronic music to the Eastern european sound of Goran Bregovic to the latest Dylan– he now that he has his own recognizable sound. The Spanish-speaking community knows who he is, and in a city such as New York City where most stores have a Spanish-speaking vendor, it is common to find Bunbury fans all over the city.

With all the respect and admiration that the artist deserves, the band Flamingos will offer this tribute to Bunbury and play well-known songs from his repertoire such as Lady Blue, Infinito, Entre Dos Tierras, Maldito Duende and La Herida. Flamingos members are Luis Carlos de La Lombana and Israel Alejandro Daza (both from the band Lombana), Diego Espinoza and Isidro Santos.
