Mi Platero

CCEMiami celebrates 100 years of ‘Platero y yo’ by Juan Ramón Jimenez with a panel of experts in the work of the Nobel Prize and a mini theatrical piece.

Juan Ramón Jiménez’s Platero y yo is one of the greatest works of Spanish literature. First published in 1914, it celebrates its 100 years without losing its capacity of fascinating new readers.

This event pays homage to the book with a panel in which poets and experts will talk about the work of the author, and in particular about Platero y yo. Part of the celebration will include a work in progress consisting in a miniature theatrical piece Mi Platero: an homage to the lyrical universe of Platero and the work of Juan Ramón Jiménez, written by Antonio Orlando Rodríguez and Eddy Díaz Souza. The piece is produced by Fundación Cuatrogatos, Artefactus Cultural Project and Centro Cultural Español in Miami.

This show is for the whole family and will be presented later on in Prometeo at Miami Dade College in November as part of the Miami international Book Fair.
