Los Angeles Philarmonic presents a Spain-focused program featuring Falla’s ballet “El amor brujo.”

Conductor Paolo Bortolameolli leads a the Spain-focused program, the highlight of which will be Falla’s ballet El amor brujo, danced by members of Siudy Flamenco Dance Theater.

Siudy Flamenco Dance Theater is the evolution of Siudy Garrido’s 15-year-old dance company originally founded in Venezuela, and now relocated to its new home in South Florida. It draws on a diverse set of deeply rooted cultural traditions, infusing classical Flamenco with new expressive potential. Siudy Garrido understands Flamenco as a universal art form based on geometric principles of energy and evolution, and continues to develop a new artistic language that is uniquely her own. Siudy Flamenco Dance Theater has collaborated with important philharmonic orchestras such as LA Phil, South Florida Symphony Orchestra, Des Moines Symphony, New West Symphony, and Miami Symphony Orchestra (MISO). Special guests and collaborators include Farruquito, Antonio Canales, Jose Luis De La Paz, Argentina, Joana Jimenez and George Akram. The company is comprised of 25 dancers, singers, musicians, and guest artists from Spain, Latin America and the United States.
