Quijotes de Celuloide

“Quijotes del Celuloide” presents posters from various movies made about “Don Quixote” over the years.

This exhibition pays homage to Miguel de Cervantes, the famous author of Don Quixote de la Mancha, and commemorates the 400th anniversary of his death.

Quijotes del Celuloide displays 45 posters from various movies made about Don Quixote over the years, in different countries, with different languages, from Don Kihot by G.W. Pabst (1933) to El caballero don Quijote by Manuel Gutiérrez Aragón (2002). The selection of posters is the result of an intense research by Enrique Camacho in different film archives. The approach of the cinema to the imaginary of the Quijote has given rise to very different films. This diversity is evident in the formal variety of selected posters, which mainly use drawing and photography to illustrate the Cervantine universe.
