Spain Dances: 2023 residency at Dance Place

During this two-week residency program, a professional Spanish dancer will have the opportunity to collaborate with resident companies and participate in other activities at Dance Place, as well as showcasing their work in an event at the Former Residence of the Ambassadors of Spain.

The Cultural Office of the Embassy of Spain in Washington, D.C. announces a new collaboration within its residency program. The residency will take place for two weeks in September 2023 (from the 11th until the 24th), in collaboration with Dance Place, on the occasion of the Washington Dance Festival.

Work will include lessons with students at Dance Place, spending time in the space to research / create / explore, working with one of the resident companies (according to the dancer’s profile), and at least one of the dancers-in-residence at the institution. Rehearsals will take place during the morning, lessons during afternoons, and performances may be placed either during weekdays or weekends (around 40h/week).

The artist will also be asked to dance at the Former Residence of the Ambassadors of Spain (Cultural Office), with the possibility to collaborate with other dancers.
