Masterful, by Rubén Martín Giráldez, is the latest English-translated release by the Spanish author. Masterful narrates the viewpoint of an apocalyptic and suicidal monarch who abdicates his throne and renounces language, specifically Spanish, owing to his refusal to embrace the mediocrity embraced by numerous writers and readers.
