Sonoma International Film Festival 2024

The 27th annual “Sonoma International Film Festival” screens more than 100 features, documentaries, and short films from around the world, including 5 movies from Spain.

The Sonoma International Film Festival (SIFF) is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the best in independent film and filmmakers from around the world, inspiring savvy film lovers, and introducing the power of film to student filmmakers. Blending a program of international film, food, wine and fun, SIFF hosts its annual festival each March, as well as special events such as SIFF Summerfest, selected films, advance screenings and special guests year-round.

Twice named one of the “25 Coolest Festivals in the World” by MovieMaker magazine, a “Top 10 Readers Choice Best Festival” by USA Today, SIFF screens more than 100 features, documentaries, and short films during its annual March festival, and showcases the newest in cinema during its monthly screening events.

The Teacher Who Promised the Sea

The buried memories of the Spanish Civil War are unearthed as a woman searches for the remains of her grandfather´s father and discovers the story of an idealistic young teacher from Tarragona.

The Blue Star

A Spanish rockstar tries to reconnect with his vocation as he travels through Latin America, where he meets an elderly musician which marks the beginning of an unforgettable and quixotic musical adventure.

The Masterpiece

Leo and Diana, a wealthy couple, meet Salif and Yousef, two scrap dealers, at a recycle center. Offering them more junk, Diana invites them to their mansion, but the immigrants actually might be the ones with something she wants.

Fernando is a talented chef who arrives in ‘70s Cadaqués, where Salvador Dalí resides. Inspired by the origin story of the legendary restaurant El Bulli, this culinary comedy of errors follows the paths of the chef and the artist crossing (or not).

DOG lives in Manhattan and he’s tired of being alone. One day he decides to build himself a robot, a companion. Their friendship blossoms, until they become inseparable, to the rhythm of 80’s NYC. One summer night, Dog, with great sadness, is forced to abandon Robot at the beach. Will they ever meet again? Robot Dreams is the first animation film by the award-winning director Pablo Berger (Blancanieves).
