UUUuuUuUu by Luna Sánchez Arroyo

Spanish dancer and choreographer Luna Sánchez Arroyo presents the results of her artistic residency at Company E in a unique performance at the Spanish Cultural Center.
As the selected artist for this year’s residency with Company | E, in collaboration with the Cultural Office of the Embassy of Spain, Luna Sánchez Arroyo invites you to experience the results of her creative exploration during a one-time performance in Washington, D.C., at the Spanish Cultural Center.
The Spanish dancer and choreographer will present UUUuuUuUu, a choreographic and musical journey inspired by air, together with seven dancers of Company | E: Philip Baraoidan, Ryan Carlough, Michala Conroy, Ja’Myra LaSalle, Horizon Miguel, Tara Compton Parsan, and Kathryn Sydell Pilkington. Drawing from the flow of air through a tube and its movement along the spine, Sánchez Arroyo has crafted a performance that intertwines bodies and sound. This work explores the interplay between movement and external sound elements, creating a sensory experience where air serves as both a medium and an active force, shaping the dance, breath, and emotions on stage.
Throughout her residency, Luna Sánchez Arroyo participated in multiple activities across the city, sharing her artistic vision and process with diverse audiences.
