Celebrate “Europe day” with a variety of activities that provide inspiration to go outside, including podcasts showcasing popular European outdoor activities and a scavenger hunt to explore European cultural landmarks around Washington, D.C.
On May 9, the Delegation of the European Union to the United States and the Embassies of the EU Member States celebrate Europe Day, the founding moment of today’s E.U. This year by taking you on a virtual tour across Europe with special events that can be enjoyed online and outside.
Outside with EU Scavenger Hunt
From May 9 through May 31, the Delegation of the European Union to the United States invites you to go outside and explore local European landmarks in Washington, D.C. Organized by the E.U. Member States, the scavenger hunt features 25 destinations across the city. The E.U. Treks Scavenger Hunt game is available on the GooseChase app for a chance to win prizes provided by the E.U. embassies. One visit and correct answer about the landmark’s significance will enter you in the prize giveaway. Each additional visit and correct answer will increase your chances to win –up to a maximum of 25 possible entries for all correct answers.
Outside with EU Podcast Episodes
From pétanque to mushroom hunting, get inspiration for your outside experience. Three podcast episodes take you across Europe, highlighting outdoor activities enjoyed in Member States at this time of year. Outside with EU podcast episodes feature engaging interviews with E.U. Ambassadors, European sports players, business owners, and Embassy representatives.
