'Minimón'

This whimsical performance explores the inner elements of a child’s ordinary life as part of the Kids Euro Festival.
MONS dansa presents Minimón, the tale of a girl named Lua who loves discovering the imaginative worlds children create as they play. When kids are away, Lua sneaks out and explores the enchanting creations that they have left behind. Upon the children’s return, she runs to hide, leaving behind new games and ideas to ensure that they never stop dreaming.
Following the performance, a workshop will be held to help kids explore creative dance and choreography. Participants will learn to express their emotions and ideas though movement, and will find that dance is not a discipline intended for few, but rather a tool of self-knowledge and socialization from which anyone can benefit. This is a family play recommended for children ages 1 to 6.
As part of KIDS Euro Festival, there will be also special Minimón performances and workshops for D.C. area schools at Imagination Stage on October 24 and at Gala Hispanic Theatre on October 28. In addition, the American Film Institute will showcase the Spanish animation movie for children Tad, the Lost Explorer (in English) on Saturday, November 8 at 11 am.
Public performances on Saturday, October 25 at 10 am and 12 pm.
