E.U. Embassies' Open House 2016

The Embassy of Spain welcomes you to its cultural center, The Former Residence of the Ambassadors of Spain, for a taste of the best Spain has to offer.

On Saturday, May 14, the Delegation of the European Union to the United States and the Embassies of 28 E.U. Member States to the United States open their doors to the Washington public during the E.U. Embassies’ Open House Day.

This annual event is the highlight of the Washington May calendar and is celebrated during Europe Week. Each embassy opens their doors to the public from 10 am until 4 pm, and offers a rare look inside the buildings and provides a unique opportunity to experience the country’s cultural heritage and national traditions.

This year Spain’s EU Open House will be held once again at the Former Residence of the Ambassadors of Spain. Indulge in Spain’s world-class cuisine, experience vibrant cultural performances, learn about education and business opportunities, and start planning your next trip!

The open house will also coincide with a special exhibition called Spanish Illustrators: The Color of Optimism, featuring the works of the most relevant contemporary illustrators in our country. Curated by journalist and cultural manager Mario Suarez, the exhibition aims to discover and recognize a generation of young artists who frequently contribute to national and international publications, galleries, museums and commercial firms.
