Spanish writer Elizabeth Duval visits Alexandria to present her novel “Madrid Will Be Their Tomb.”

Join the author at Old Town Books for a reading and discussion. Elizabeth Duval will discuss her latest translated novel, “Madrid Will Be Their Tomb,” portraying two characters who, despite belonging to opposing political groups, intersect and impact each other’s lives.

Elizabeth Duval

Graduated in Philosophy and French Language and Literature, Duval is a regular contributor in Spanish media outlets. She writes poetry, prose, theater, and essay and explores the intersection between text and audiovisual media. She has written Reina, the first memoir in Spain by a woman from Generation Z, as well as Exception, a long poem about the streets on fire. In 2021 she published the essay After The Trans, and the novel Madrid Will Be Their Tomb that was praised by critics and readers alike.

In 2023 she published a sociopolitical essay on how to recover hope when facing a grim future and Poserótica, a reflection on intimacy through poetry.
