DJ Gee Lane at Art All Night Shaw

Spanish DJ Gee Lane performs on the closing night of “Art All Night DC,” an event that showcases global talent in the heart of Washington, DC.

Shaw is where Art All Night DC began in 2011, and in 2024, it continues the tradition of showcasing performances and installations both indoors and outdoors, in public buildings and businesses. This year, the Passenger, a cocktail bar in DC, will host a unique collaboration that brings together talents from three continents: Spain, the US, and Ghana, for a night of music.

The event will be headlined by the acclaimed Spanish DJ Gee Lane, known for her electrifying sets at top festivals such as Sónar and Primavera Sound. Recognized as one of DJ Mag’s emerging artists to watch in 2024, she also hosts the radio show Table for Two on Radio D59B (Belgrade), where she hosts her favorite producers, DJs and music selectors in the industry.

Gee Lane will collaborate with local talent Adrian Loving, a contemporary art and music historian and a visual artist whose curated exhibitions have graced prestigious venues like the Smithsonian; and they will be joined by Farafina Kan —whose name translates to “the sound of Africa”— a West African Performance Ensemble dedicated to preserving African traditions through music and dance.

About Gee Lane

Gee Lane is a Spanish DJ based in Barcelona who has been making music for over 20 years. She received her musical education from her father, a composer and musician. Her time in New York City deepened her passion for music, especially through her admiration for Body & Soul musicians François K, Danny Krivit, and Joe Claussell. Her sound is further influenced by funk, Latin, hip-hop, house, and jazz.

Driven by a passion for eclectic sets and a desire to introduce new sounds to her audience, Gee Lane has performed at numerous venues, including Sonar Festival, Primavera Sound, Dgtl Festival, Kala Festival in Albania, Melt Festival, and Panorama Bar. She has had the privilege of sharing the booth with internationally renowned DJs, including Moxie, Mr. G, Laurent Garnier, Honey Dijon, A-Trak, Lil Louise, Gilles Peterson, and Danilo Plessow.

She already has two extended plays with Toy Tonics, titled Metamorphosis and Synesthesia. Her new extended play will be released on the Ensouled label next autumn.
