Open twice a year in September and June as a way to open and close SPAIN arts & culture’s cultural season, La Terraza is a cultural experience designed to offer something different every time.

September 2019 at La Terraza

David de la Mano

Spanish artist David de la Mano is the artist selected to participate in the second edition of the project Not your Regular Wall, and will create new work for the foyer of the Former Residence of the Ambassadors of Spain. De la Mano is a Spanish contemporary artist best known for his stunning murals often depicting silhouettes, trees and other monochromatic imagery. His large-scale, black and white pieces provoke reactions among the viewers and encourage their emotions and ideas through a minimalist aesthetic.

The artist not only observes others and their social or anti-social behaviour, but explores every corner of social behaviour in his practice. He uses silhouettes of men, women, or the masses as narrative metaphors. Through these figures, he gives poetic visions of the human condition in society and the ways human perceive the world.

David de la Mano’s work at the Former Residence of the Ambassadors of Spain will explore the theme of the First Circumnavigation of the World, on the occasion of the celebration of the 500th anniversary of the Spanish Magellan-Elcano expedition.

Ritmos Raros

Ritmos Raros is a moving but never ending tropical vinyl nostalgic dancefloor party dedicated to the rare and normally unheard rhythms of Africa, Latin America, India, Caribbean, Brazilian, and the Arab variety. DJs playing at La Terraza are Leon City Sounds and Sir Ramases.
