The Festival of New Spanish Cinema is six years-old and remains as young and fresh as ever, with a bevy of new talents that against economic odds still manage to produce widely-viewed pieces in every cinematic genre. See your favorite actors in romantic comedies, edge-of-your-seat thrillers, thought-provoking dramas as well as a stellar documentary that flirts with fiction.
Selected films at the Festival Internacional de San Juan de Puerto Rico include Casting by Jorge Naranjo, Pa Negre (Black Bread) by Agustí Villaronga, Aquí y Allá (Here and There) by Antonio Méndez Esparza, El regreso (The Return) by Hernán Jiménez, A busca (Father’s Chair) by Luciano Moura and El hombre de al lado (The Man Next Door) by Mariano Cohn and Gastón Duprat.
