Love of Lesbian 2022 U.S. Tour in San Francisco

The Spanish indie pop band Love of Lesbian returns to the United States for a tour in multiple cities.

Formed in 1997 in Barcelona, Love of Lesbian’s album La noche eterna. Los días no vividos was nominated at the 2012 MTV Europe Music Award for Best Spanish Act and reached number 1 the same year.

The band is formed by Santi Balmes (vocals, guitar and keyboards), Jordi Roig (guitar), Joan Ramon Planell (bass and synthesizer) and Oriol Bonet (drums and programming). The original band features two more members, Julián Saldarriaga (guitar and voice) and Dani Ferrer (keyboards and voice), in live concerts.

Since forming in 1997, Love of Lesbian have become one of the most influential indie pop bands in Spain. It’s easy to hear why—the multitalented five-person band produce supercharged tracks that are made to fill stadiums. Frontman Santi Balmes’ deep, arresting vocals hit hard, working in tandem with spangly guitars, fast-paced percussion and quirky synthesiser notes. While their sound can be compared to US acts like Gin Blossoms and R.E.M., the band seamlessly blends this global style with Spanish instrumentals and meaningful lyrics.
