Bread & Coffee by Ferran Torras
“Bread & Coffee” is a solo show presented by Spanish artist Ferran Torras that experiments with the art of collage, with a feeling of nostalgia through simple and naive compositions using mixed media.
Bread & Coffee is a show inspired by Ferran’s love for those two elements that are deeply rooted in Spanish culture, especially bread, where there is no meal without it and people use it as a tool to eat; it’s very common to go to the bakery daily to get your barra de pan (baguette).
About the artist
Ferran Torras is a multi-disciplinary artist from Catalonia with a background in design and illustration. He grew up in a small rural town near the French border and studied art and design in Barcelona. Always eager to find new means of expression, his style comes in many different forms and is always evolving, most recently through experimentation with the art of collage. His work conveys a feeling of nostalgia through simple compositions using mixed media such as pencil, photographs and old paper.
Now based in the San Francisco Bay Area, Torras founded the Wall and Wall mural painting company in 2015 and has worked with clients such as Capital One, Kiva, WeWork, Google, and Facebook. As a muralist, he combines the worlds of art and technology to create immersive interactive experiences.
