Galician bagpiper Cristina Pato and Galician accordionist Victor Prieto perform at the Musical Bridges International Music Festival to celebrate San Antonio’s Spanish heritage.

As part of San Antonio’s Musical Bridges International Music Festival, Cristina Pato is joined by Grammy Award-Winner Victor Prieto, and their band Latina.

Internationally acclaimed Galician bagpiper master, classical pianist and passionate educator, Cristina Pato enjoys an active professional career devoted to cultural exchange and to creating new paths for her unique instrument. Her dual careers have led to performances on major stages throughout the world, including regular tours in the U.S. and Europe and sporadic tours in India, Jerusalem , Angola, China, Korea, Mexico, Turkey, and her native Spain.

Victor Prieto

Grammy Winner Victor Prieto is hailed by The New York Times as “A fiendishly skilled accordionist and composer” and by All About Jazz as “One of the best World music and Jazz accordionists nowadays.” He has changed the way musicians and spectators view accordion by revolutionizing both technique and sound (chord approach on both hands). His love for the traditional Galician music and classical education enriches his compositions with explosive rhythm and colors uniquely combining Galician Roots, Celtic, Brazilian, Jazz, Tango, and Classical Music.
