Spain-Brooklyn Series

The Consulate General of Spain in New York and Spain Fresh present a showcase featuring some of the best emerging musical talent from Spain.

The Consulate General of Spain in New York is proud to present Spain-Brooklyn Series, a concert organized in collaboration with Spain Fresh. Spain-Brooklyn Series will showcase some of the best emerging musical talent from Spain at Baby’s All Right in Williamsburg on Monday, 4th of July. The evening will feature performances by Spanish bands Polock, IZAL and Der Panther followed by American DJs Timothy Allen and Vortex. This event provides a chance for the New York audience to discover the latest trends in the Spanish Music Scene in one of Brooklyn’s favorite venues.

About Polock

Polock, a quintet still in their twenties, burst onto the scene in April 2010 with a record which had an unusual impact for a debut album by a Spanish band. Getting down from the Trees was released in the USA, Canada, Mexico, Japan, the UK, France, Germany, Switzerland and Austria.

About IZAL

A pop-rock band from Madrid, IZAL has been playing since 2010. In 2013 they won the Best New Band award at the Spanish Independent Music Awards and the Rolling Stone Awards. In the past years, they have played in more than 35 festivals, including BBK Live, DCODE or Arenal Sound.

About Der Panther

Der Panther is an experimental, cosmic-rock, tropical, flamenco band originally from NYC, London, Madrid and Bogotá, currently based between New York City, Madrid and London. There is little information about their real names and persona. In their performance there are contributions from various kinds of musicians but on stage they usually appear as a duet behind a big white canvas. On this canvas they project 3D-Mapping videos and images that mutate with their live performance.
