Something’s Coming: A Tribute to Sondheim by Joan Vázquez

This performance at New York’s Metropolitan Room features showtunes by Stephen Soundheim, the composer of “Sweeney Todd,” “Company,” “Into the Woods,” “A Little Night Music,” and more.

Joan Vázquez, the stage star for Spain’s productions of Merrily We Roll Along, Hair, Rent, My Fair Lady, and Mamma Mia! is back in New York after a successful performance at Feinstein’s/54 Below cabaret on July 5. Vázquez debuted Something’s Coming at Teatre Gaudí in Barcelona and at Nuevo Teatro Alcalá in Madrid, Spain, and will now be singing in English in New York.

Accompanying himself on the piano, Vázquez celebrates music theatre genius Stephen Sondheim with legendary songs such as Losing My Mind, Finishing the Hat, Send in the Clowns or Being Alive, while delivering Mr. Sondheim’s witty quotes on the state of the art, love and life.

Don’t miss this solo show by the “new guy in town” performing in the style of recent actor-musician Sondheim productions on Broadway. Featuring Broadway stars to be announced.

Joan treated a full house to 17 of Sondheim’s finest compositions in a pleasing show… there was no mistaking his passion for the material or the easy power of his baritone.
