A a unique showcase of 16 contemporary European features presented as part of the NY Portuguese Short Film Festival.

Panorama Europe gives New York audiences what may be their only chance to see acclaimed films from the festival circuit on the big screen. This year’s festival will take place at Museum of the Moving Image in Queens and at the Bohemian National Hall in Manhattan, featuring two films from Spain: The Unexpected Life and Magical Girl.

Kick-off event at Tribeca Cinemas on Thursday, May 28, at 7:30 pm: Short European films presented as part of the NY Portuguese Short Film Festival, followed by a party.

The Panorama Europe festival board is comprised of the Albanian Institute New York, the Austrian Cultural Forum, the Czech Center, the Delegation of the European Union to the United Nations, the Cultural Services of the French Embassy, Goethe-Institut New York, the Hungarian Cultural Center, the Italian Cultural Institute, the Onassis Foundation (USA) and Consulate General of Greece, and the Polish Cultural Institute New York.

Additionally, Festival partners include the Arte Institute, the Consulate General of the Republic of Croatia and Croatian Audiovisual Centre, the Consulate General of Estonia, the Consulate General of Spain and Instituto Cervantes, the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania, the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia and Slovenian Film Centre, and the General Representation of the Government of Flanders to the U.S.

On Saturday, May 30

  • Afterlife, at 2 pm.
  • The Tree, at 4 pm.

On Sunday, May 31

  • I Can Quit Whenever I Want, at 2 pm.
  • Xenia, at 4 pm.
  • Bota (The World), closing weekend film, at 7 pm.

On Tuesday, June 2

  • The Way Out, at 7 pm.
  • Afterlife, at 7 pm.
  • At the Bohemian National Hall

On Friday, June 5

  • The Way Out, at 7pm.

On Saturday, June 6

  • Cowboys, at 2 pm.

On Sunday, June 7

  • In the Crosswind, at 2 pm.
  • The Gambler, screening and live event, at 4 pm.
  • In the Basement, at 7 pm.

On Tuesday, June 9

  • Age of Cannibals, at 7 pm.
  • At the Bohemian National Hall.

On Saturday, June 13

  • Breathe, at 2 pm.
  • The Unexpected Life, at 4 pm.

On Sunday, June 14

  • Magical Girl, at 12 pm.
  • Age of Cannibals, at 3 pm.
  • Violet, closing film, at 7 pm.
