Osaka by Carmelo Segura Dance Company

Carmelo’s latest production “Osaka” premieres at this year’s edition of White Wave Dance Festival New York.

Osaka is based on the legend of the Red Thread, which tells us that within the labyrinth of encounters and shared stories, there is a predesigned and perfect path, a scarlet string which connects us with our irrevocable destination.

Award-winning choreographer Carmelo Segura is one of the most innovative choreographers of his generation, with a very personal view and a unique choreographic style. His works have been performed in Australia, Japan, Germany, UK, Poland, Bulgaria, Italy, Brazil, Colombia, Peru, Sweden, Korea, France and Spain, among others. Segura founded the Carmelo Segura Dance Company in 2013, based at Teatros del Canal in Madrid. The main Spanish performing arts institutions have supported the project since its beginning, such as INAEM, Comunidad de Madrid, SGAE, Teatro del Bosque and Centro de Danza Canal.
