José María Alvarez at The Americas Poetry Festival of New York

Spanish poet José María Alvarez participates in this multilingual Festival with his experimental poetry.

Among the authors reading this year is Spanish poet José María Alvarez, who has led a life of writing and travel.

He was part of the Nueve novísimos group, characterized by an absolute formal freedom, automatic writing, elliptical techniques of syncopation and collage, the use of exotic elements and artificialness, the influence of mediums of communication, film and a the influx of a camp aesthetic. In addition, the festival will gather poets such as Ilze Butkute, Iván Oñate and Isaac Chavarría, among others.

José María Alvarez's talk and reading will take place in Spanish.
