Joaquin Rodrigo: An Anniversary Celebration – The Guitar and Beyond: Solo Piano and Piano Duet Music

This concert is part of a city-wide festival focusing on Joaquín Rodrigo, one of the greatest composers of piano music from Spain.

The festival focuses on Maestro Rodrigo and his music, including an international symposium at NYU and the Foundation for Iberian Music at the CUNY Graduate Center with independent scholars and musicologists.

Although blind from an early age, Joaquín Rodrigo (1901-1999) wrote highly original and passionate piano music. The second concert of the series –Solo Piano and Piano Duet Music– highlights some of his masterworks for piano solo. Performed by Douglas Riva and Isabel Pérez Dobarro.
