Hinds: I Don’t Run Tour in New York City
The 1960s-influenced Spanish band Hinds presents their latest album “I Don’t Run” in Warsaw, Brooklyn.
Formed in Madrid in 2011, Hinds consists of Carlotta Cosials (vocals, guitar), Ana Perrote (vocals, guitar), Ade Martin (bass, backing vocals) and Amber Grimbergen (drums). Their breakout debut album, Leave Me Alone, was an album of party anthems drenched in metaphors. With their sophomore record, I Don’t Run, the band returns with an honest reflection on a period that changed their lives beyond their wildest imaginations. Since 2014, the band has been on a globe-trotting run becoming one of the biggest indie bands to ever emerge from Spain.
The unity of Hinds is at odds with the tales of band in-fighting and clashes of personality. It’s an aspirational model, an example of women lifting each other up, inspiring an emotional openness in their songwriting; for them, their second album is a new start.
