Estopa 2022 U.S. Tour in New Jersey
The brothers from Cornellà (Barcelona) will visit Elisabeth, NJ, to present their ninth album “Fuego” and perform the best songs from their 20-year musical career.
Estopa is a Spanish rumba duo formed by brothers David and José Manuel Muñoz. Their first album released in October 1999 and featuring 12 songs with Suma y continua and La raja de tu falda as the first singles, sold more than 1,4 million copies, a record for a debutant group in Spain. The Ducados 2000 tour took the band throughout Spain and South American countries. The “Estopa phenomenon” began, with the endorsement of the Amigo Awards for Revelation Artist and Best Spanish Group and the Ondas Award for Revelation Artist.
In their 20-year career, they have made their music cross all borders with their next 9 albums, Destrangis, ¿La calle es tuya?, Voces de Ultratumba, Allenrok, Estopa X Anniversarivm, Estopa 2.0, Esto es Estopa and Rumba a lo desconocido, managing to sell more than 5 million copies worldwide. In 2019 Estopa turned 20 and released the album Fuego.
Few rock en español bands sound so authentically Spanish as Estopa, fronted by brothers José and David Muñoz Calvo, who have been combining rumba flamenca’s driving pace with hooky rock guitars and drums since 1999. Set in bars and other corners of the urban world, their poetic and often very funny songs depict richly drawn working-class Spaniards, explore romance in all its messiness and consider the mixed blessings of everyday vices. Casually insolent and utterly charming, Estopa’s “ultrarumba” is ready to rumble.
