Eduardo Mendoza: The writer under the radar

The winner of the 2017 Cervantes Award talks about his career and life dedication to literature.

Born in Barcelona, Eduardo Mendoza moved to New York City where he worked for ten years at the United Nations and published his first novel, The truth about the Savolta case, to critical acclaim.

An eminent novelist, Mendoza is known for his simple yet profound prose, his acute awareness and wit. The touch of humor he introduced into the detective novel unleashed a new era of storytelling in Spanish literature.

The talk will be in Spanish with simultaneous translation in English.
