Don Quixote by American Ballet Theatre

A ballet in four acts and eight scenes, based on episodes taken from the famous novel Don Quixote de la Mancha by Miguel de Cervantes

Celebrated knight Don Quixote and his devoted squire, Sancho Panza, are positively heroic when it comes to aiding the spirited maiden Kitri and her charming amour in Cervantes’ delightful comedy.

Don Quixote is,undoubtedly one of the most represented ballets in the world. The main character is loved and recognized thanks to the benefits of the universal language of dance. In addition, his famous “Pas de Deux” is part of the mandatory repertoire of the great dancers and the complete work, so is Don Quixote.

The music is composed by Ludwig Minkus. The world premiere of ballet was held on December 26, 1869 at the Bolshoi Theater in Moscow at the request of the Imperial Theaters of Russia.
