Crónica de una muerte anunciada

The play is a journey to the Colombia of Gabriel García Marquez that explores the murder of an innocent man and the guilt of an entire village.

Gabriel García Marquez’s work has experienced all kinds of adaptations, both in the cinema and in the theater, along with many interpretations that several artists have made of it through painting and music. This adaptation by actor and playwright Fabio Rubiano, and directed by Jorge Alí Triana, stays faithful to the original text.

The play lasts approximately for 85 minutes. It’s like a puzzle where the past, the present and the future converge. Everything develops in a bullring in the sense that it is a death announced, just like the death of a bull. We become witnesses not of who is going to be killed, but how is going to be killed, which exactly what happens in the novel. Around the barriers, all the characters are present, participating as accomplices in the death of Santiago Nassar.
