Oro a la Carta: Cervantes' Entremeses at INTAR

The Consulate General of Spain in New York and INTAR Theater are proud to announce a new collaboration to present the productions of new English adaptations of all eight Entremeses (one-act short plays) by Spanish poet/playwright/novelist Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra.

The first two short plays will premiere this summer to commemorate the 400th anniversary of Cervantes’ death: La Elección de los Alcaldes de Daganzo / Electing The Judges of Daganzo (translated by José Antonio Melián and Walter Krochmal) and El Retablo de las Maravillas / The Magical Puppet Show (translated by Mariana Carreño-King.)

Directed by Rebecca Martínez, performances will run from June 23rd through 28th at 8 pm. The cast includes Gilbert Cruz, Valeria Avina, Jacqueline Guillen, Benjamin Manno, Gabe Morales, Martina Portratz, Ashley Marie Ortiz, Robby Ramos, Analisa Velez and Hara Zi. Many cast members are part of UNIT 52, INTAR’s Emerging Artists company.
