Al Margen Flamenco Dance Company presents Adorno

This experimental work brings a particular perspective to New York flamenco created by New Yorkers.

This performance is included within CallBack Series 2017, an annual event organized by Teatro Círculo with performances created by independent groups, previously presented in limited seasons, whose artistic merits make them deserve a second opportunity.

In Adorno, Ryan Rockmore and María de los Ángeles create a singular interpretation of the relationship between flamenco dancers and their accessories: the castanets, the tailed gown, shawl, fan, and cane acquire another meaning. Adorno’s originality is that dancers create alternative uses of these accessories while maintaining their flamenco essence.
