Spanish Cinema Now + 2024 in West Palm Beach

“Spanish Cinema Now +” showcases the finest recent Spanish films for local audiences at the Norton Museum of Art in Miami.

In collaboration with The Norton Museum, Spanish Cinema Now + presents a showcase of films that reflects the breadth of styles and talents at work in Spain today, including both established auteurs and emerging filmmakers from the international festival scene.

Four’s a crowd

In the wake of using a car-sharing mobile app to cope with his economic problems, Julián, a divorced man, meets Lorena, whom he begins to drive to Madrid on a regular basis, falling romantically for her. He is about to open up his feelings in one of those travels, but the situation takes an unexpected turn because of the selection of the rest of passengers.

The Girls are alright

Four actresses and a writer spend a summer week in an old mill rehearsing a play. During these days, the women get to know each other and explore their dynamics through the material presented in the script. The interactions and conflicts that arise among them reflect their own lives and aspirations, creating an atmosphere of discovery and personal transformation. The experience in the mill becomes a journey both professional and emotional, where artistic creation intertwines with friendship and introspection.

A woman watches time passing next to the suitcases of her ex-lover (who is supposed to come pick them up, but never arrives) and a restless dog who doesn’t understand that his master has abandoned him. Two living beings facing abandonment.

Strange way of life

After twenty-five years, Silva rides a horse across the desert to visit his friend Sheriff Jake. They celebrate the meeting, but the next morning, Jake tells him that the reason for his trip is not to go down the memory lane of their friendship.
