The Parrots California Tour

The rock trio from Madrid are defined by their garage rock tone, call-and-response vocals, and lo-fi production that only enhances the listening experience.

The Parrots are set to cause a commotion in the garage-surf-punk scene this year. And not only in the garage scene: legendary British weekly NME highlighted them as Buzz Band of the Week last August, and many other international media are following them closely now, with rave reviews on The Line of Best Fit, DIY, Gold Flake Paint, to name but a few.

In 2013 they self-released a demo EP; the video for the main track on this demo has already 45.000 views on YouTube. Their first official release was a 7” released in early 2014 via Sonido Muchacho, a cult indie label from Madrid. The live video of one of the songs on this single, Dee Dee Dangerous, filmed on stage in Amsterdam’s Red Light District where they recorded it, has now more than 50.000 views.

They went on to release two more tracks with legendary Spanish producer Paco Loco (The Posies, Las Kellies, The Sadies, The Jayhawks, Steve Wynn…) for their second 7” released in the summer of 2014 via Bachelor Records from Austria, sharing catalogue with such favourites as Black Lips, Dead Ghosts, Hunx, Smith Westerns.

The band was selected to perform in March 2014 at South By Southwest (SXSW) in Austin, Texas. In the meantime, Converse used their tracks Gigantic Trees and Dee Dee Dangerous (off the debut 7”) in several street style videos.

They’ve gained buzz in Spain, playing all the major cities and festivals, and have already toured in France, Portugal, Holland and the UK. They played an amazing show this year at Le Guess Who? Festival in Utrecht (Holland), right after their first Euro tour.

In March they’ll be back in Austin for SXSW, followed by a first tour of Mexico and back to the U.S. for the Burgerama festival and a few more dates in the West Coast. 2015 will see their first recordings on Burger Records, the perfect home for them: a split 7” with their best friends Deers and the cassette of their forthcoming EP (vinyl edition still undecided in Europe.)
