Andrea Motis at Vail Jazz Festival

With 8 albums on her résumé, the 23-year old Barcelona-based trumpeter and vocalist is wowing audiences worldwide with her jazz, bossa and swing renderings.

Already selling out major concert halls, Andrea Motis’ singing has a charming, naïve quality, but don’t underestimate her ability to swing, bop and weave her way through even the most challenging material. Adding to the palette is acclaimed sax man Joel Frahm, a fixture on the NYC jazz scene, whose big tenor sax sound graces recordings by some of today’s leading vocalists and jazz artists.

The Guardian called Motis “a newcomer unselfconsciously wearing star quality like a halo,” adding “Motis has the kind of pearly, barely exhaled voice, paced with canny improv swerves and casual timing, from which jazz celebs are made.”
