Aventura by Eva Armisén
The Spanish artist presents her newest work, “Aventura,” a collection of paintings that celebrates the small moments in daily life, on view for one month at Markowicz Fine Art.
Armisen’s Aventura –or adventure– capture everydayness as something extraordinary, offering a vital and optimistic look on daily life.
About the artist
The works of Eva Armisén have been exhibited in galleries, museums and art fairs in Europe, Asia and the United States. The peculiarity of her work has led her to engage in collaborations in fields such as public facilities in Korea, Hong Kong or Los Angeles; advertising campaigns for brands such as Nike, Coca-Cola or Samsung; and television and film or editorial projects.
As an illustrator, she has published children’s and poetry books and currently collaborates with the digital magazine Catorze.cat. In 2016, she collaborated in the candidacy of the Haenyeo (diving women of the island of Jeju) to Intangible Heritage of Humanity and in June of 2017 she illustrated the book Mom is a Haenyeo. In 2020 Armisén received the Fine Arts Prize awarded by Heraldo de Aragón in her hometown of Zaragoza.
Opening reception on Thursday, April 13 at 5 pm featuring a performance by Dallas-based flamenco organization Flamenco Fever. The artist will be in attendance. RSVP required at [email protected].
