Miguel Colom and Daniel Bronco at Chamber Music Charleston

In collaboration with The Music en Segura festival in Spain, musicians Miguel Colom and Daniel Broncano will join Chamber Music Charleston for this concert.

As part of the collaboration between Chamber Music Charleston and Música en Segura Festival in Spain, violinist Miguel Colom and clarinetist Daniel Broncano join local musicians in a Ovation Concert Finale, performing works by Brahms, Stravinsky and Beethoven. In May, musicians from Chamber Music Charleston will participate in the Música en Segura 2018 Festival, taking place in the charming Spanish villiage of Segura de la Sierra, deep in the Segura and Cazorla National Park.

About Miguel Colom

Born in Madrid, Miguel Colom began to study violin with Sergio Castro and Anna Baget, then continued in some of Europe’s most prestigious institutions: Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía, under Rainer Schmidt, the “Hanns-Eisler” Hochschule für Musik Berlin with Antje Weithaaas, and the Arts University of Berlin (UDK) with Nora Chastain. The success of Colom in many international competitions bear out his artistic quality: Prize winner in the Max Rostal International Competition, First Prize in the Ibolyka-Gyarfas Violin Competition Berlin, First Prize in the Competition of Juventudes Musicales de España, the Conservatorio Statale di Fermo award at the Andrea Postacchini International Competition in Italy, and the First Prize, Special Award and Prize for the best performer of Spanish music in the “Villa de Llanes” International Violin Competition.

About Daniel Broncano

Daniel Broncano was born in Madrid in 1986 and studied in Royal Conservatoire Madrid and in Paris with Nicolas Baldeyrou. Established in London in 2009, he completed a Masters Course at Trinity Laban studying clarinet with Joan Enric Lluna and Michael Whight, and has obtained an Artist Diploma at the Royal College of Music thanks to a full Ibercaja/Mackerras Scholarship. He has been a member of Southbank Sinfonia and has appeared with Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Royal Philarmonic Concert Orchestra, BBC Concert Orchestra, Orquesta Nacional de España, Colin Currie Group, Chroma Ensemble (recording for Harmonia Mundi), Orquesta de la Comunidad de Madrid, Sound Collective and the Chipping Campden Festival Academy Orchestra. Daniel is the founder and director of Musica en Segura.
