Festival Flamenco Albuquerque 2019
In its 32nd edition and with the goal of preserving and promoting Flamenco’s artistry, history, and culture, this Festival brings the finest Flamenco artists to Albuquerque.
Each June, Festival Flamenco Alburquerque brings the finest Flamenco artists in the world to this city. From June 15th to the 22nd, Albuquerque will be filled with the pulse of Flamenco and transformed into a cultural epicenter for the art form. This year’s edition presents artists Olga Pericet, Manual Liñán, Sergio de Lope, Belén López, Concha Jareño, and Lucía Álvarez “la Piñona”.
The Festival also includes a series of 30 workshops and lectures to explore the history and development of Flamenco, its dance, and its sound patterns. These classes are available and designed for students of all ages and backgrounds, creating a multi-generational, diverse atmosphere that promotes excellence, knowledge, and personal growth.
Ser de Luz by Compañía Sergio de Lope

With the flute and the saxophone, Sergio de Lope and his ensemble turn “flamenco soul” into compositions combining other genres like jazz.
Emovere by Compañia Lucía La Piñona

Emovere, a Latin word (movement towards the outside or set in motion) gives its name to this show. The concept is born from the impact of Lucía Álvarez’s experiences through her emotions, which she tries to capture through her body and the tools that surround her.
Flamenca by Compañía Belén López

In Flamenca, Belén López bares her soul and takes the audience on a journey through the most genuine expression of Flamenco with an impeccable technique.
Recital Flamenco by Compañía Concha Jareño

In Recital Flamenco, Concha Jareño presents a demonstration of the maturity and knowledge that she has treasured in all her years of experience as a bailaora. Jareño and her company perform tangos, guajiras, martinetes, seguiriyas and soleá.
La Espina by Compañía Olga Pericet

From award-winning dancer Olga Pericet, La Espina encompasses a personal journey through dance that comes from memory, wounds, past kisses, and time.
¡Viva! by Compañía Manuel Liñán

¡Viva! is a song to the freedom of movement, embracing a feminine nature from a masculine body and blurring the lines of gender roles in order to explore our own nature and way of expressing ourselves.
