Opera Hispánica Festival
The nation’s premier festival of the Hispanic opera presents a month of concerts, opera, panel discussions and classes.
Centered on Opera Hispánica's mission to promote Latin American and Spanish opera, vocal works, and artists, this year's festival will take place in March 2013 at leading venues throughout New York City.
Festival highlights include Pasiones! The Pulse of Zarzuela, a concert featuring renowned Cuban-soprano Eglise Gutiérrez (Royal Opera House at Covent Garden, Teatro Liceu, Caramoor Festival) at the Americas Society on March 8 and a company premiere of Astor Piazzolla’s sultry tango-opera, Maria de Buenos Aires at Le Poisson Rouge on March 15 and 17.
